Tuesday Photo Feature: What's Going On Where?

I have been meaning to make this post for a long time now. Swithart is so anxious to see what I could come up with with the huge activity we did when we were on our vacation back home in Philippines this summer. This has been a long-term plan and we both are very much happy and thankful that finally, we succeeded in what we have planned. And so I am calling this post "photo feature". Why, because I am featuring few shots I took when we gave out school supplies to all the students who are members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that we love so much in Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.  When I say all students, I meant from Kindergarten to college levels. There were 325 students all in all including the non-Adventists who got inside the church building because they have heard there will be free school supplies to give out that night. We didn't expect that many because the list given to us only consisted of 200+ names and we are just thankful that we were able to buy more than what we expected to give. Our huge thanks as well goes to the management of the Cagayan Educational Supply, a leading educational and bookstore in the city, for giving us good discounts in our purchase. Thru our housemate Nora, a niece of the owner of the store, we were given such nice privilege. I try to make this post as short as possible so here, I'll give you the photos to glance:

Aren't they all so excited? This face in the very front is our ninong who helped organized the night's event.

Just two of the groups of kids who have received our gifts. They were so happy.

Defining happiness when they got their pack of pencil, pen, crayons, papers, notebooks, and art materials.
It cost us some amount in pesos not too little; it may not be a lot to those who have received but we were consoled to have the children's parents came to us and expressed their gratitude for giving them a lot. It saved them a good amount to prepare for their children's school stuff. Classes back there starts second week of June and we gave out the materials June 5th. It was a great thing and an awesome time, not because we were able to spend some $$$, but the effort we have made and the help that my nieces and Jon's nephews extended were immeasurable. We hope to do it again next time. It was tiring but we had so much fun. It's undoubtedly fulfilling. {Sorry I am nowhere to be found in any photo; I was videotaping the whole event and taking shots as well!}
